Hi, I'm Amie

A little about me...

I'm a multi-genre singer, actor, mover/aspiring dancer and teacher based in Ontario, Canada.  Favourite credits include performances with Drayton Entertainment, Spiritus Ensemble, The KW Symphony, Lost & Found Theatre, The Jazz Room, and more. I have also music-directed or vocal-directed a number of musicals and award-winning choirs.

I love creating with other artists and sharing stories with an audience.  Having the opportunity to create and experience new places, new people, new perspectives, new music and then getting to share that with others - it's truly incredible.  Whether it's for a play, musical theatre, opera, oratorio or with a band singing covers & originals with friends, rehearsals are my favourite way to spend time.  Hire Live Musicians Here

I love to
learn.  I received my Honours BMus with a minor in Languages from Wilfrid Laurier University and have since completed "the Masters of Amie" with additional training and certifications from NYU Langone Medical Center, Shenandoah University, The Banff Centre, The Singing Athlete, Stratford Festival, and more.

Singing & Acting drive me to keep Learning & Growing - as both an Artist, and a Teacher.

In January 2023, I became the first person in Canada to be certified by The Singing Athlete.  Created by Andrew Byrne - my mentor & teacher -The Singing Athlete uses the power of the neuroscience and Neuro Athletic training to get immediate results for the singer.  I truly believe this is the future of high-level voice training but anyone with a brain can benefit from this trainingLearn More Here

I love inspiring others. I am passionate about encouraging students and teachers to be unique and elite artists and coaches, and to share their gifts with the world.  I'm often invited to present my engaging and original workshops for universities, community ensembles, theatre groups, teacher training programs and more.

I'm an Executive Member of NATS Ontario and act as the Vocal Showcase Coordinator.  I'm also a member of ORMTA & CFMTA, the Sound Health Network and am a Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) teacher.

Favourite place I've travelled to:  Kaua'i, Hawai'i - but Banff National Park and The Galapagos Islands take a VERY close second!

Favourite thing to cook:  whatever's in season!  Cooking is a creative outlet and I love being inspired by our local market & farmers
Favourite thing to eat: any fruit, the darkest of dark chocolate (fair trade & organic for bonus points), organic Sencha tea, and smoky, peaty Scotch

Favourite charity:  arts organizations, of course, but also The Nature Conservancy of Canada

Favourite yoga move:  Crow Pose... or anything that has to do with hip-opening... yummy...

If I wasn't in rehearsals or teaching, a perfect day would be:  I'd be off travelling somewhere new, do a little yoga and a fantastic hike & picnic in the morning, then spend the afternoon browsing local shops and cafés learning about the locals' way of life, definitely make time to be near, on or in water (boat ride, snorkel or scuba trip if available please!) then spend the evening with friends and family enjoying live music and excellent food & wine!  Oooohhh... a perfect finish would be a dry sauna, fire, snuggles with my cat, and good book about nerdy voice or brain science before bed.
